To check and update the version of iOS on your iPad:
- On your iPad, tap Settings, then General.
- Under General, go to the About section. If it’s earlier than 10.3.3, you will need to update. Continue to the next step.
- Tap Software Update, and then follow the on-screen instructions to download and install.
To check the Rugged Case firmware version:
- Make sure your iPad is connected to the Rugged Case.
- On your iPad, tap Settings and then tap General.
- Under General, go to the About section.
NOTE: Your Rugged Case is connected if it appears in the device list. - Select the Rugged Case to check the Firmware version. If it is earlier than 0.3.8, tap Update, and then follow the instructions to install.
- Make sure that the Smart connector ports on the iPad and Rugged Keyboard are clean.
- Make sure that your Rugged Case is connected and recognized by your iPad. In the Settings / General / About section on your iPad, verify that the Rugged Case appears in the device list.
- Detach the Rugged Keyboard from the Rugged Case and then reattach it.
You may need to repeat this step a couple of times, waiting 5-10 seconds after you’ve detached/reattached the device. Test each time to see if the keyboard works. - If the keyboard still doesn’t work, restart your iPad — this should establish a working connection.
